About Sluys

Boechout, a sleepy little village to the south east of Antwerp, Belgium is where Klaas Sluijs established Sluys International in 1931. He scratch-built a factory, blending raw materials into an exquisite rose or lavender perfume. Klaas was a go-getter and quickly expanded his business to manufacturing flavours for the food and beverage industry.

Old Sluys

The original vision survived the sudden death of the founder in 1965. In the mid-eighties, the company acquired a Malaysian shareholder. In March 1996, the Malaysian partner acquired virtually all the shares. The factory grew to the point of bursting at the seams. In April 2000 the company left its cradle and moved to a new ultra-modern purpose-built factory on an industrial site in nearby Duffel.

New Sluys

The intricate blend of East and West gives Sluys International that extra edge. Over half a century of experience world-wide guarantees the quality and effectiveness of the flavours, fragrances and emulsions manufactured by Sluys International. From the new factory in Duffel our goal is to build on the solid track record of integrity and excellence that has been our hallmark since the very beginning.
